In the past 40 years ICCM has produced clear changes in approaches and practices in the field of mosaic conservation: the conservation of mosaics in situ versus lifting; the use of lime mortars instead of cement mortars in treatment; preventive conservation instead of direct treatment. ICCM has further contributed to capacity building and the promotion of maintenance and management strategies.
ICCM publishes proceedings of its triennial meetings, as well as newsletters, which are available for free download, and are today recognized as the primary reference in the field of mosaic conservation, for scholars, professionals, and students.
Since 1978 the formal recommendations of the ICCM have served as the leading path in defining theoretical and methodological approaches in professional mosaic conservation.
All of these would not be feasible without the support of ICCM members & contributors. If you care about mosaics and want to help, you may send us your financial support here. We have set a minimum of 5€, but you may name the contribution that seems best for you.
