Visit to the archaeological site of Delos on 26th October

We regret to announce that the proposed travel package, which was provided through a travel agency, for a post-conference tour to the island of Delos has been cancelled, as we were unable to meet the minimum required number of participants.

However, the Organising Committee will be present at Delos on Sunday, 26th October, and we would be delighted if any participants wish to join us for a site visit.

Delos is one of Greece’s most significant archaeological sites—the legendary birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990. Once a vibrant Panhellenic sanctuary and commercial hub, Delos is especially renowned for its exquisite mosaic floors.

Site Visit to Delos – Sunday, 26 October

Please note that those interested will need to make their own travel arrangements to reach the island.

• Arrival: You must arrive in Mykonos by Saturday, 25 October to take the ferry to Delos the next morning.

• Ferry to Delos: Ferries depart from the Old Port of Mykonos at 10:00, with return options at 13:00 or 17:00.

• Departure: Plan to stay in Mykonos a second night and depart on Monday, 27 October.

Accommodation:
Mykonos offers a range of accommodations. We recommend booking a place within walking distance of the Old Port. You may book through online booking platforms or travel agencies.

Getting to Mykonos:
Boats and fast ferries to Mykonos leave daily from Piraeus Port which can be reached by Metro (Blue or Green Line) or taxi (15-20 Euro from the city center). Tickets can be booked online and are priced similarly across platforms.

Important:
Since the the organized tour has been cancelled, you are responsible for arranging:

• Ferry tickets to/from Mykonos

• Accommodation in Mykonos

• Transport to Piraeus

• Ferry tickets from Mykonos to Delos (buyable at the dock; no pre-booking needed, but arrive early)

Additional Info:
Delos has no cafés or shops. Please bring enough water and snacks.
