How to get there

The city has a small international airport, but it can be easily reached by car, bus or train from the international airport of Sofia, which is located approx. 150km away. 

Sofia airport is well connected to Sofia bus and railway station by metro which takes approx. 30-40 minutes. (https://sofia-airport.eu/en/access/transportation/#public-transport). The ticket price is 1.6 lv (0.80 cents). 
A taxi from the airport to bus and railway station will take approx. 20-30 min. and costs 20 lv. (10 Euro). 
 
There are buses and trains from Sofia to Plovdiv every hour or half an hour.

  • By train it takes 2.5 – 3.00 hours, second class costs approx. 10 lv. (5 Euro) and  first class is 12 lv. (6 Euro): https://www.bdz.bg/en
